Description
Position is full time at CLIENT's office in Lund.ASSIGNMENT 100%TECHNICAL AREA Simulation/Analysis Engineering
SPECIAL EXPERTISE NEEDED
The role has a central function in the organization, performing simulation and analysis work for all of the technical divisions within ESS. The area of expertise should be wide, enabling the candidate to take on tasks in a range of different fields of physics. The main focus of analysis work is within structural and fluid mechanics using FEM/CFD.
Competences within the following areas of analysis are credited:
Structural strength calculations. Static and dynamic simulations
Fluid dynamics using CFD
Thermal calculations and thermodynamics
Seismic and vibrations
Pipe and support calculations
Our main tool for CFD and FEM simulations is ANSYS, and the main tool for pipe calculations is ROHR2. The ability to use both of these tools are highly credited.
Some process simulations are also performed by the Analysis section, with the use of DYMOLA (Modelica language). Good knowledge of process systems and the ability to use this tool is credited.
Since ESS is a research facility where advanced physics is being conducted, a basic understanding of the fields of more theoretical physics, such as atomic and nuclear physics, quantum mechanics or electro magnetics is also credited.
The environments that are being simulated is often subjected to extreme conditions, such as cryogenic temperatures, chocked flows and/or radiation.
The candidate will also focus in the following tasks:
- Performing dimensional and verifying analyses.
- Review designs and calculations performed by ESS and external collaborators.
- Other related engineering activities.
Project /design activities are planned and lead by work unit leaders and lead design engineers, representing different project teams.
TOOLS AND HARDWARE NEEDED
laptop & phone
Client will provide licenses to CAD and Engineering tools required for the assignment.
